Project Spotlight
Command Sgt. Maj. Bennie G. Adkins State Veterans Home
At almost 90% complete, the Command Sgt. Maj. Bennie G. Adkins State Veterans Home is scheduled to open later this year.
Basesix is wrapping up a wide variety of work at the home this winter/spring. We’re installing fire alarm, access control, intrusion, nurse call, video intercom, and public address systems across the facility. Our team has been working around the clock to ensure that residents are soon served by the state-of-the-art care systems.
Command Sgt. Maj. Bennie G. Adkins
The new home is named after Command Sgt. Maj. Bennie G. Adkins, a distinguished veteran who was deployed to Vietnam three times, a Medal of Honor recipient, and a bulwark of the southeastern Alabama community. The new skilled-care nursing facility will provide a trusted home for some of Alabama’s deserving veterans in Enterprise. Studies show that Enterprise, and more broadly Coffee County, will see ‘significant growth’ in the veteran population in coming years: the 182,000 sq ft home placed on 108 acres will provide a home for 174 residents and provide jobs for 200+ people.
Basesix is honored to be a part of a project that will have such an important impact in the lives of Alabama veterans.
