Robb Borden
Chief Executive Officer
After graduating Auburn University, Robb’s career began in sales in 1995. In 2002, Robb joined Suntech Systems as a partner and VP of Operations. In 2005, after growing Suntech to the largest integrator in the region, together with their partners, they sold the business to a strategic buyer out of California.
In 2006, Robb founded Onepath and served as its President and CEO until 2016. As an integrator, Onepath offered services similar to their prior company, but also was one of the first companies to bridge the gap between building systems integration and network integration. From 2006 to 2017, when Robb exited the business, Onepath experienced growth from zero to approximately 220M in revenue.
Chris Atwell
Executive Vice President
After attending West Georgia College, Chris enrolled in GTI and earned a degree in Electronics Technology. While attending school, Chris worked for Siemens as a Technician and moved into various Sales and Management rolls with Siemens after graduating. In 1995, Chris joined the management team at Suntech Systems and helped to grow and develop the company into the premier Systems Integration firm in the Southeast. Once the acquisition and transition of Suntech was completed in 2005, Chris joined Robb at Onepath and served on the leadership team through 2017.
Chris is a native of Lilburn, GA where he attended Parkview HS and met his wife Pam of 26 years. Pam and Chris have two children, live in Covington, GA and attend Passion City Church.
Stuart Gurr
President
After graduating from the University of Georgia in 1995, Stuart began his career in sales in the healthcare industry at a start-up company that quickly became WebMD. Stuart transitioned into the banking industry in 2002 as a Co-Founder of a commercial bank with operations in Jacksonville, FL and Salt Lake City, UT.
Stuart entered the low voltage industry 13+ years ago when he joined the Onepath team as an Account Manager. His entrepreneurial spirit and focus on turning concepts into reality enabled him to close over $75 million of low voltage technologies work, including projects at SunTrust (Truist) Park and at The Marcus Tower at Piedmont Hospital. As a top-ranked seller in the organization, he also mentored and developed the next generation of sales and project management talent. Stuart is passionate about growth – the growth of the company, its culture, and most importantly, its people. He brought this passion to Basesix when he joined in 2019, where he currently serves as President.
Stuart is a native of Marietta, GA. He has been happily married to his wife Mindy for 28 years and lives in Marietta, GA. Stuart and Mindy have 3 children and attend Mt. Bethel Church.
Derrick Dunkin
Regional Vice President, Alabama
Derrick’s journey began at Bessemer State Technical College, where he honed his skills before embarking on a career as a field technician and installer at an alarm company. Over Derrick’s 28 years, he has immersed himself in the intricacies of structured cabling systems. His expertise led him to project management with a Birmingham-area consulting firm, where he eventually rose to the position of Operations Manager. Derrick’s commitment to excellence extended to achieving the Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification through BICSI, demonstrating his dedication to industry best practices and lifelong learning. Derrick joined Basesix in 2018 as Regional Vice President, Alabama.
Danny Murphree
Regional Director, Huntsville
Danny brings a wealth of expertise to the table, with more than three and a half decades of dedicated service as a State of Alabama Master Electrician and low voltage systems contractor. His proficiency extends to the low voltage niche, where he has amassed substantial experience in the design and execution of low voltage projects. His academic journey was marked by distinction, having completed a four-year apprenticeship and achieving top honors with the Independent Electrical Contractors (I.E.C.). In his professional trajectory, Danny has been instrumental in establishing new branches, serving as Operations Manager for two distinguished firms. His unwavering dedication to quality is evident in his attainment of the prestigious Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification from BICSI, underscoring his deep-seated commitment to excellence. Danny joined Basesix in 2023 and serves as Regional Director, Huntsville.
Krista McKinney
Chief Financial Officer
Krista graduated Auburn University in 2008 and spent two years serving with Nashville Teaching Fellows while earning a Masters in Teaching from Belmont University. In 2011, she joined Mid-Con Energy Partners during their IPO process and worked in various roles on the Finance and Investor Relations team.
In 2016, after relocating from Texas to Georgia, Krista joined the Finance team at Summit Midstream Partners. She joined Basesix in 2019 and currently serves as Chief Financial Officer.
Bryan Merville
Regional Vice President, Tennessee
After graduating from The University of Tennessee in 1992 with a degree in psychology, and a master’s degree in counseling, Bryan spent 4 years doing Family and Teen counseling for Oasis Center and Youth Villages in Nashville. He eventually returned to school to pursue his Civil Engineering degree and after working with his father’s Civil Engineering firm in the late 90’s, Bryan found his passion for sales. In 2001, he began working in the financial industry where he met his mentor and someone who would later introduce him to the Low Voltage industry and become his business partner.
Bryan entered the low voltage industry 16 years ago when he joined the team of an established low voltage company in Nashville. His desire to learn and lead teams, coupled with his ability to form long lasting relationships with his clients allowed him to move quickly through the ranks and become the company’s President and part of its ownership team. Under Bryan’s leadership, the company was able to grow their sales, diversify their client base and expand into new markets, ultimately positioning that company as one of the more successful low voltage firms in Nashville.
In 2021, Bryan was introduced to the leadership team at Basesix and in August 2022, he took the opportunity to join the team at Basesix when they needed to establish a presence in one of the fastest growing construction markets in the country. He quickly recruited a tenured and experience team of industry experts and the Basesix Nashville office was born.
Bryan is a native of Nashville, TN. He has been happily married to his wife Shea for 18 years and lives in Brentwood, TN. Bryan and Shea have 3 amazing kids, Garrett, Anna Clare and Caroline.
